STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) – Stevens Point track and field had a banner day at the Wisconsin Valley Conference indoor invitational at UW-Stevens Point Tuesday, cruising to team titles in boy boys and girls.
Their dominance began in the long distance, where both the boys and girls took first place in both the 4×800 meter relay and the 1,600 meter run. Ethan Olds and Tessa Bruckhart won the respective 1,600 meter titles.
In the field events, Amon Konopacki set a new personal best in the high jump, topping a distance of six feet and six inches to win that title. Cheyenne Cornell set a new SPASH indoor girls record, pole vaulting over ten feet and three inches for the win.
SPASH won the boys title with 100 points, topping second-place D.C. Everest’s 124.5 points. The girls won first with 161 points ahead of Marshfield’s 145.5 points in second place.
