SA’s financial watchdog has warned the public against doing business with RNI Aquaculture, a company that promised investors lavish returns by buying a stake in a fish farming business.
In marketing materials, RNI said investors could “rent” or “adopt” perlemoen (abalone), fish, and crayfish to raise for export at one of its (unnamed) “aquaculture centres”.
It even claimed that the construction of “large-scale aquatic breeding centres” would help the state solve SA’s crippling unemployment problems.
