Last week, a new wave of Site Reputation Abuse manual actions swept over the web and toppled several gigantic affiliate sites in the process, namely those belonging to Forbes Marketplace.
Recovery does not appear to be on the cards for these sites. While their collapse was shocking enough, the affiliate industry has still been holding its breath, waiting to see how this would impact the channel overall.
What is Google really trying to achieve here? Is it levelling the playing field and dismantling dishonest monopolies? Or is it coming for affiliate content in general?
