Twenty-two members from the South Prairie FFA chapter attended the 95th North Dakota FFA State Convention on the North Dakota State University campus from June 3-6.
During this time, members conduct official North Dakota FFA business and compete in state career development events. Members competed in more than 30 award, degree and career development events over the four days.
Chapters receiving a gold rating from their state FFA associations can compete nationally for 3-star, 2-star or 1-star ratings. State chapters are ranked gold, silver or bronze at state conventions based on their chapter activities. The top 12 gold-ranked chapters advance to the National FFA Convention for judging. A gold national chapter in the National FFA Organization is an FFA chapter that has been recognized for implementing the organization’s mission and strategies.
South Prairie chapter highlights include the Gold Superior chapter, Gold National chapter and Premier Superior chapter. South Prairie was awarded the premier superior chapter for a life skills workshop for its seventh graders. The chapter was a state finalist in strengthening the ag premier chapter with its ag safety day for fourth graders.
Brylee Beeter, Amber Braasch, Natalee Becker and Jacob Kramer received their FFA State Degrees. This degree is the highest level a member can achieve at the state level. It recognizes the work put into the member’s supervised agricultural experience projects, their service to their community and their dedication to FFA at their local chapter and beyond.
