Song submissions close today for three competitions across Europe and the Americas.
Flevoland – Regio Songfestival 2024 – Song submissions close
Omroep Flevoland closes its search for the Regio Songfestival 2024 today. The Flevoland broadcaster opened a song submissions process at the end of May. This is a first for the broadcaster who internally selected their 2023 entry.
Flevoland was represented by Abtin Salem at the Regio Songfestival 2023 with “Kleurenblind“. He finished 9th scoring 84 points.
Liet International 2024 – Song submissions close
Today is the last day for songs to be submitted to compete in Liet International 2024, the song contest for minority languages.
A total of thirteen songs will be selected to compete in the contest. Three acts will be prequalified for the contest: Melissa Pander the winner of Liet 2023, a song representing the German minority in Denmark and an act from Corsica.
The remaining ten other songs will be selected by an open call for songs, songs can be submitted until the end of today. The songs chosen will be announced at the end of July.
Liet International is a song contest for regional and minority languages spoken across Europe. The contest was first held in 2002 as an evolution of Liet, a Frisian language song contest held in the Netherlands.
Nunavut – Pan-Arctic Vision 2024 – Song submissions close
In Nunavut, the submissions window for their selection for Pan-Arctic Vision 2024 closes today.
Nunavut will be debuting in the contest this year and the entry will be chosen in co-operation with the Alianait Arts Festival (ᐊᓕᐊᓇᐃᑦ ᑕᐅᑐᕋᓐᓈᖅᑎᑦᓯᓂᖅ).
Artists and singers interested in representing Nunavut have until July 1 to apply at projects@alianait.ca. The interested artists will compete in a selection on July 7, as well as via pre-recorded performance. A jury will select Nunavut’s representative.
