Several University of Louisville basketball targets in the Class of 2025 have been selected for International competitions.
Three targets – Jasper Johnson, Nate Ament, and Shelton Henderson – were selected to the USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team. The trio made the team after a five-day minicamp and tryout last week with 25 others in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The team will compete in the FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup from June 3-9 in Buenos Aires.
A former standout at Woodford County High, Johnson attended Link Academy in Branson, Mo., this past year and is a top-15 prospect in the Class of 2025. New U of L coach Pat Kelsey made a visit to meet with Johnson’s parents and the prospect is expected to visit campus soon.
Johnson said earlier this month that he’s building a bond with the new U of L staff.
The 6-foot-6 Henderson is from Bellaire, Tx., and holds an offer from the new U of L staff. He said earlier this month that U of L, Houston, LSU, and Texas were among the top schools showing him the most interest.
Ament is a top-20 prospect and also holds an offer from U of L. He said earlier this month that he would like to make a visit to U of L.
U of L targets Kaden Magwood, Latrell Almond, Malachi Moreno, and Tay Kinney have all been selected to compete in the Adidas Basketball Euro Camp set for June 1-3 in in Treviso, Italy. Magwood and Almond will compete on the USA Select team, while Moreno and Kinney will compete on the 3SSB Select team.
