The late Queen’s ‘favourite grandson’ Peter Phillips has seemingly embarked on a new romance with a paediatric nurse and freelance writer just weeks after the end of his previous three-year-relationship.
King Charles‘ nephew Peter, 46, was photographed this weekend with NHS hero Harriet Sperling at the Badminton Horse Trials.
Harriet, who is a Christian single mother, has enjoyed a long career in medicine as well as her writing efforts and recently wrote movingly about how her faith in God has helped her bring up her young daughter.
The medic was also part of a huge team that worked tirelessly to save the life of immunocompromised baby Phineas Cockerham in 2010 for which she was praised by his father.
This weekend, the ‘smitten’ pair watched the cross-country horse riding before leaving in a vehicle with Peter’s daughters Savannah, 13, and 12-year-old Isla.
The event, which was also attended by Peter’s sister Zara Tindall, 42, and her husband Mike Tindall, 45, is a popular tradition for members of the royal family who sometimes compete in the games themselves.
One of Peter’s friends previously confirmed the royal met someone recently and they have been spending time together however this is the first time the new couple have been seen and photographed out and about.
Peter is said to be the late Queen’s favourite grandson and is also very close with his uncle, King Charles.

News of the relationship with Harriet comes just weeks after Peter, who is 18th in line to the throne, split from his partner of three years, Lindsay Wallace, 43.
Before going out with her, Peter married Autumn Kelly in 2008 having announced their engagement the previous year. They ended their 13-year marriage in 2021.
Speaking of Peter and Harriet, a witness told The Sun: ‘They looked completely smitten and he was grinning from ear to ear.
‘He looked like the cat that got the cream and acted without a care in the world.’
Medic hero Harriet has enjoyed a long and successful career on the frontlines of the NHS through her work as a paediatric nurse specialist.
In 2010, whilst working at the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London, Harriet helped to save the life of a critically ill baby named Phineas who had contracted a terrifying rare virus that was compromising his immune system.
Working as an intensive care nurse, Harriet recalled the impressive response time she and her team had put into practise when it was clear that Phineas needed intensive care.
She said: ‘‘Just 20 minutes after receiving the call to collect Phineas, the retrieval team were on our way in an intensive care ambulance.’
Thanks to the heroic actions of Harriet’s team, Phineas survived and as a show of thanks his father, Michael Cockerham, photographed each of the 63 medics that worked on his child.
Harriet is a single mother who has written movingly in the past of the struggles she faced raising her daughter alone.
She said: ‘The unique relationship between a single mother and her child is forged in the fires of struggles and victories.
‘It’s a bond characterised by a love and survival against the odds.
‘[…] But of course beauty comes from relationships, relationship with our maker and relationship with each other.
‘It is often tough parenting alone but although there is a stigma to endure, God is able to step in and turn it for good.’
Peter and his recent partner Lindsay went their separate ways after the relationship ‘ran its course’, a source previously told The Sun.
‘They were friends before their relationship blossomed. But Peter and Lindsay have gone their separate ways as the relationship simply ran its course,’ the source said.
A friend of the pair added to Hello! that Peter’s work commitments means he’s been travelling ‘non-stop’.
‘Peter and Lindsay made the difficult decision to separate as they were spending less time together with work and family commitments. Peter’s business commitments and work in F1 meant he has been away and travelling non stop,’ the source said.
‘It obviously came as a shock as most people thought they were absolutely rock solid, it’s very sad. Peter has been travelling all over the world and has been incredibly busy and Lindsay is based up in Scotland, so it’s been hard for them to see each other.’
The late queen’s grandson, who lives on his mother’s Gatcombe estates, does not get money from the royal grant and works as head of partner acquisition for the rights agency CSM Sport & Entertainment and as an ambassador for ISPS Handa, as well as various other endorsement gigs.
