EVE Online has rolled out a notable update to its Freelance Jobs system today. This new feature arrived as part of the May 2025 Legion expansion, continuing the game’s tradition of evolving its sandbox with systems designed to broaden player agency and economic activity.
The Freelance Jobs feature lets players (known as capsuleers) work with player-run corporations to complete tasks independently, rather than joining a corp directly. The latest update refines how capsuleers can contribute, focusing on streamlining logistics and expanding hauling job opportunities.
- Introduces a “Deliver” job type, allowing players to transport specific items directly to a job location, rather than a central Project Hangar.
- Capsuleers can now accept multiple jobs from the same corporation that require the same item type, improving efficiency and reducing logistical headaches.
- Ownership transfer, contribution tracking, and ISK payments are now handled instantly when deliveries are made.
For corporations, these changes provide a more flexible way to manage the flow of goods, especially valuable during ongoing conflicts in Nullsec and Lowsec regions, where supply lines are under pressure from player-led wars. For freelancers, the update opens up new ways to earn ISK and build a reputation by taking on hauling jobs that fit their playstyle and risk appetite.
