A baby aged only 14 days has died after being bitten by a dog in a residence in the Entwistle area, police said on Monday, Feb. 17.

Emergency medical services and Evansburg RCMP responded to the incident on Sunday, Feb. 16.
“The dog has been surrendered and RCMP are continuing to investigate,” police stated.
According to the Alberta RCMP, when police arrived at the scene to assist EMS, the baby was seriously injured and their life was threatened.
The baby was taken by STARS air ambulance to Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.
“Despite best efforts from medical professionals, the infant has been declared deceased,” police stated.
“No further updates are expected.”
The RCMP did not name the family impacted by the tragedy.

Entwistle is a Parkland County hamlet located approximately 50 kilometres south of Mayerthorpe and 89 km west of Edmonton.
