South Korea’s CJ CheilJedang Corp. announced on Thursday that it organized the CJ Challenge Live Competition at the 2024 K-Food China Qingdao International Culinary Championship held in Qingdao, China.
This live competition is part of the Cuisine-K project, aimed at discovering global Korean cuisine chefs, with CJ CheilJedang sponsoring the products.
Korean and Chinese chefs participated in the CJ Challenge Live Competition, showcasing a variety of dishes made with popular K-food products in China such as dumplings, tteokbokki, dashida, and sauces.
Professors from culinary universities and culinary masters from both countries served as judges.
“Korean chefs displayed the global appeal of Korean cuisine, while Chinese chefs demonstrated the localization of Korean food,” they said.
Cuisine-K plans to continue sponsoring culinary competitions worldwide.
The goal is to inspire global chefs from a young age to take an interest in Korean cuisine and to develop diverse menus using Korean ingredients, fostering future ambassadors of Korean food.
