AUSTIN, Texas – Concordia Texas Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Ronda Seagraves has announced the hiring of Chris Seo as the new Assistant Athletic Trainer. He now joins the Concordia Athletic Training department after working some CTX athletic events the past season as a contract Athletic Trainer. Seo is set to officially start his duties on August 1st.
“Concordia athletics is excited to have Chris Seo join our Sports Medicine Team. His background in intercollegiate athletics, his love of working with student-athletes, and his athletic training knowledge stood out. We are very fortunate and welcome Chris to the Tornado family.” said Seagraves.
Seo earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology & Health from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master of Science in Athletic Training from Texas A&M University. Seo got his start as an Athletic Training Student for Southern Methodist University’s football team during their 2019 Fall Camp. During his master’s program at Texas A&M, Seo worked with the Texas A&M Football, Baseball, and Track & Field teams & interned at the University of Washington during the summer of 2021.
Upon completion of his master’s program in 2022, Seo was hired as an athletic trainer for the Harvard University Track & Field/Cross Country team. After a year in Boston, he made his way back to Austin to become an Athletic Trainer for Ascension Medical Group where he provided coverage for multiple Independent School Districts such as Hutto, Georgetown, & Round Rock and also worked with local teams such as Lonestar SC and the Austin Ice Bats. Since excelling in his role at Ascension, Seo is now excited to begin his new role at Concordia Texas.
