The Prix de Lausanne has announced that its Asia-Pacific pre-selection will take place in Macao this September. The competition itself – for young dancers seeking careers in classical ballet – is scheduled for next February.
This will be the first time Macao has played host to the Switzerland-based competition’s pre-selection process for the region. The Grand Lisboa Palace Resort has been chosen as the venue.
Registrations open tomorrow and will close on 15 June. To be eligible, applicants must be born between 9 February 2006 and 8 February 2010 (currently aged 14 to 18) and a citizen of a country in the Asia-Pacific region. Only four dancers will move through to the next stage.
