Honolulu (KHON2) – During the iichiko Saiten mixology cocktail event, iichiko USA hosted an elite Saiten Cocktail Competition featuring some of Hawaii’s top mixologists.
iichiko Saiten is Japan’s top shochu and a favorite of mixologists around the globe. 20 mixologists entered the competition, where mixologists came up with creative cocktails that were judged on taste, presentation, inspiration, ease of execution, and the use of Saiten. The first-place winner receives two roundtrip tickets to Japan, a tour of the iichiko distillery, and $1,500 cash.
“I was so honored to have won. The cocktail I created is called ‘Fresh Perspective.’ The use of the Saiten really stands out in the cocktail,” says Christine Riddle, Winner of the iichiko saiten cocktail competition.
