LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Henderson drone team is soaring to success as they are set to compete in a national drone competition in Tennessee.
Students at Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Windmill Campus will compete in the national competition in Chattanooga, TN.
This is the team’s first year competing in the competition and they have already qualified for the National Middle School Drone Tournament.
The team has set up a GoFundMe to help fundraise for travel and equipment expenses.
Staff and students said they were the first drone club in Nevada when established and there are now over a dozen in the state.
There are several aspects to the competition including piloting, coding, teamwork and more.
