JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians held the first “Great Cookie Tasting” competition at Yee-Haw Brewing Company on Tuesday.
Yee-Haw Brewing in Johnson City partnered their signature Tennessee beer with popular Girl Scout Cookies for the event. Each participant received a flight of beer, four cookies and light appetizers.
“We had folks that are key leaders in the community competing to be the region’s favorite cookie, which [meant] that they were trying to raise the most money,” Chief Development Officer for Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians Alicia White Price said. “Whoever raises the most money gets their cookie, crowned the very favorite cookie of Appalachian Highlands.”
Proceeds from the event benefited local Girl Scouts.
