The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, today announced key changes in senior management personnel (SMP) with the heads of marketing and sales, engineering, and human resources (HR) and information technology (IT) departments being transferred to the executive committee.
The current marketing and sales head, Shashank Srivastava, will be replaced by Partho Banerjee, who heads the service division, Maruti said in a regulatory filing.
Banerjee has been with Maruti for the past 34 years where he began his career. He has worked across various verticals, including sales, marketing and production engineering. Ram Suresh Akella will be the service head now.
CV Raman, the present engineering head, will be replaced by Tarun Aggarwal. In place of the HR and IT head, Rajesh Uppal, Maruti has brought in Manoj Gautam to take care of the IT section and Salil B Lal to head the HR section.
Srivastava, Raman and Uppal will now be members of Maruti’s executive committee.
Besides, Rahul Bharti will now head corporate affairs, Sunil Kakkar will head corporate planning and Deepak Thukral will head supply chain.
The new appointments will become effective from April 1.
