Freelance Technical Directors & Production Managers
Good Sense & Co. — NYC / Project-Based Freelance
We’re looking to expand our freelance roster of Technical Directors and Production Managers for an upcoming series of projects.
Good Sense & Co. is an event production company that collaborates with top-tier clients across the entertainment, tech, fashion, and culture sectors. Our projects range from large-scale public events to branded activations and one-off live experiences. Things move fast, and we take pride in delivering complex projects with calmness, clarity, and collaboration.
We’re seeking enthusiastic and motivated team members to join us on a freelance basis. Ideal candidates come from a theatrical or live event background, possess a solid technical understanding across various departments, and can maintain momentum during extended hours and high-pressure environments. A working knowledge of Vectorworks is a plus, but not a dealbreaker.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
• Collaborating with the team to build and maintain production schedules
• Managing vendors and keeping them updated as plans evolve
• Supporting the technical design process and overseeing revisions
• Coordinating crew, rentals, and deliveries as needed
• Being present for key moments on site (load-ins, shows, strikes)
This is freelance work, scoped per project — some gigs might be a few days long, while others might span a few weeks, including preparation and execution.
