Karen Alexis, who was last seen in Edmonton on Oct. 27, 2023, has been found deceased, according to the Mayerthorpe RCMP.

The police had requested public assistance in locating Alexis in July 2024; she has since been found in Edmonton, Const. Julie-Ann Strilaiff told the Mayerthorpe Freelancer.
“The situation is non-suspicious,” Strilaiff said.
Strilaiff added that police are not expecting to find anything suspicious.
Alexis was 30 at the time of the RCMP’s public request in 2024.
According to police, she previously resided in Grande Cache in the Municipal District of Greenview and also has ties to Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation.
In July 2024, the RCMP stated there was concern for Alexis’ safety.
“Mayerthorpe RCMP would like to thank the public for all of their assistance,” police said this week.
