SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Saturday was River-Cade’s Annual Andy Langin Memorial Skateboard Competition at Cook Park.
It was an adrenaline packed afternoon filled with kick flips and ollies, as top skateboarders in the area showcased their skills and competed for a championship title.
It was 10 dollars to enter for those skating in the amateur, intermediate, and advanced levels. The event was free for anyone that wanted to watch the competition, with live music, and food vendors to enjoy.
“A skateboard competition is good because there’s a lot of kids out there that have these skills, and for them to win prizes, it keeps them going, it keeps them inspired, and I think we’re seeing that today,” said David Hall, Competition Organizer.
Hall said they do this competition each summer and are now trying to get it indoors for a winter competition as well.
